Green Ridge Trails is located in Morgan County Tennessee. This is one of the preferred adventure destinations in the state with activities ranging from White Water rafting in the Obed River to mountain climbing. Below is a list of destinations in this widely diverse area

 

Frozen Head State Park

20 Miles (Approx. Distance from Green Ridge Trails) Over 24,000 acres of terrain with elevations that varies from 1,300 ft to over 3,000 ft, in fact there are over 14 peaks within the park that are over 3,000 ft.

Obed Wild and Scenic River

30 Miles (Approx. Distance from Green Ridge Trails) Canoeing, kayaking and rafting are among the many things that bring people to the Obed. The river is one of the best whitewater rivers In the eastern United States and contains three different difficulty classifications. The Obed stretches along the Cumberland Plateau.

Catoosa Wildlife Management Area

40 Miles (Approx. Distance from Green Ridge Trails) 82,000 acres of wild land on the upper Cumberland Plateau. Offers fishing backpacking and white water rafting.

Lone Mountain State Forest

Lone Mountain State Forest is located a few miles south of Wartburg. The forest consists of 3,624 acres and is managed by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry.

Rugby

Rugby is a historic community located in the northern most part of Morgan County. On the fringe of the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Rugby was founded in 1880 by English author and social reformer, Thomas Hughes.

The Cumberland Trail State Park

The Cumberland Trail State Park is Tennessee's 53rd state park and the only state park of its kind. A Scenic Hiking Trail cutting through 11 counties that, when finished, will be 300 miles long.
